🏗️ BIM Management & International Standards

🎯 General Objective

This level aims to qualify the trainee to transition from a BIM user to a BIM Coordinator / BIM Manager. This is achieved by understanding and applying international standards such as PAS 1192 and ISO 19650, and implementing BIM methodology across all project stages (Design – Construction – Facility Management) in accordance with global best practices.

🔹 INTRODUCTION TO BIM MANAGEMENT

  • Distinguishing between BIM Modeler / Coordinator / Manager.

  • The role of the BIM Manager within a project.

  • Information Management vs. Model Management.

🔹 BIM STANDARDS & CODES

  • Introduction to the PAS 1192 series.

  • In-depth explanation of the ISO 19650 standard.

  • Key Concepts:

    • Information Management.

    • CDE (Common Data Environment).

    • Naming Conventions.

    • Revision Control.

🔹 COMMON DATA ENVIRONMENT (CDE)

  • The concept of a Common Data Environment.

  • File status codes (WIP / Shared / Published / Archived).

  • Permission and access management.

  • Collaboration platforms such as Autodesk BIM 360 and Autodesk Construction Cloud.

🔹 BIM EXECUTION PLAN (BEP)

  • Developing the Pre-Contract BEP.

  • Developing the Post-Contract BEP.

  • Defining roles and responsibilities.

  • Establishing the Data Exchange Plan.

🔹 BIM IN PROJECT LIFECYCLE

  • Applying BIM in the Design Phase.
