Overview:
The Comprehensive Structural Design Course provides an in-depth and practical approach to building structural systems design. The program aims to equip participants with the skills and knowledge to understand and analyze building structural systems, including column placement, slab system selection, load handling, and modeling buildings using Safe and Etabs software. Participants will also learn how to convert software outputs into detailed structural drawings using AutoCAD.
Objectives:
- Understand Structural Systems: Provide a thorough explanation of building structural systems, including column placement and the appropriate slab systems.
- Read Architectural Drawings: Teach participants how to read and interpret architectural drawings for application in structural design.
- Load Analysis: Explain the types of loads applied to concrete structures, how to determine their values, and distribute them across structural elements.
- Modeling Buildings: Train participants to model buildings in 3D using Safe and Etabs software, perform structural analysis and design, and generate reinforcement details.
- Produce Drawings: Teach how to use software outputs to create detailed structural drawings in AutoCAD, including plans, reinforcement schedules, and sections.
Training Content:
- Structural System Design: Explanation of the structural system of a building, including column placement based on architectural drawings.
- Reading Architectural Drawings: Methods for reading and understanding architectural plans and applying them in structural design.
- Slab System Design: Guidance on selecting and designing slab systems for buildings, including concrete slabs, hollow-core slabs, flat slabs, etc.
- Load Analysis: Understanding different types of loads, their determination, and distribution across structural elements.
- Building Modeling: Detailed training on modeling buildings in 3D with Safe and Etabs software, including structural analysis and design.
- Drawing Production: How to convert software outputs into comprehensive structural drawings in AutoCAD, including plans, reinforcement details, and sections.
Target Audience:
- Structural Engineers: Professionals involved in the design and analysis of structures.
- Architects: Those involved in architectural design who collaborate with structural engineers.
- Engineering Students: Students studying civil or architectural engineering.
- Construction Professionals: Individuals interested in enhancing their skills in structural design.
