Course Overview:

This program prepares engineering graduates in the fields of chemical, electrical, and mechanical engineering to transition from the academic environment to the practical environment in one of the important industrial engineering techniques which is Membrane Processing. The program discusses the practical environment related to the technical aspects of application of modified membrane applications in separation and purification processes. Also introducing graduate engineers to Modern Membranes Techniques and Maintenance, in addition to the ethical aspect of preparing them to join the workforce in this continuously developing field.

Course Objectives:

  • Understand and explain the significance of membrane separation processes and their applications in industry
  • Understand and explain the different mechanisms of membrane transport
  • Understand and explain the basic definitions and transport models of transport
  • Be able  to  design  reverse  osmosis  modules  for  single-solute  &  multi-solute systems
  • Be able to design membrane modules for gas separation
  • Understand and explain the contemporary issues in membrane science

Target Audience:

All graduates with minimum Bachelor degree in science or engineering
