Course Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand VR hardware, tracking types and degrees of freedom.
  • Set up a VR project with the right packages, settings and render pipeline.
  • Build and test VR experiences with the XR Interaction Toolkit and the simulator.
  • Implement locomotion techniques with comfort options.
  • Build physical interactions: grabbing, sockets, doors and buttons.
  • Script interaction events and haptic feedback in C#.
  • Design VR interfaces and menus according to best practice.
  • Add spatial audio and visual effects.
  • Build for Meta Quest and optimise performance.
  • Prepare for the Unity Certified User: VR Developer exam.
