Course Overview
A practical technical course designed to equip telecom and RF professionals with the knowledge and skills required to prepare, execute and document Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), RF testing and installation/commissioning activities. The course combines testing methodology, installation verification, RF measurements, walk testing, link-budget calculations, troubleshooting and professional handover documentation.
Course Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the purpose, structure and requirements of FAT and SAT.
- Prepare and review SAT/FAT procedures and test documentation.
- Interpret system installation drawings and verify site installations.
- Perform pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for RF/telecommunication systems.
- Operate basic RF test equipment, including spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
- Perform RF measurements, walk tests and basic troubleshooting.
- Verify equipment configuration, functionality, communication and alarms.
- Apply RF power, gain, loss and link-budget calculations.
- Evaluate antenna gain, cable losses, free-space path loss and receiver sensitivity.
- Understand fade margin and basic RF coverage calculations.
- Analyze test results and prepare professional SAT/FAT reports.
- Prepare punch lists, track corrective actions and support system handover.
