Course Overview
A practical, hands-on technical course designed to develop the skills required for RF cable installation, connector termination, inspection, testing and fault localization. Participants will gain practical experience with RF cable types, routing and bending requirements, connector installation, cable quality inspection, Site Master calibration and testing, VSWR and loss measurements, test-result interpretation, and preparation of professional RF test reports.
Course Objectives
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Identify different types, construction and applications of RF cables.
- Understand RF cable specifications, cable loss, VSWR and return loss.
- Select and install appropriate RF connectors.
- Perform correct RF cable routing, bending and installation practices.
- Inspect RF cables and connectors and identify installation defects or damage.
- Calibrate and operate Site Master and RF cable testing equipment.
- Perform VSWR, return loss and insertion-loss measurements.
- Locate faults and identify defective cable/connector sections.
- Interpret RF test results and identify abnormal readings.
- Perform installation quality checks.
- Prepare accurate and professional RF cable testing and commissioning reports.
