Course Overview:
This course is designed for process engineers and technicians. It covers the different types of process instrumentation devices and instrumentation loops and configuration to measure, monitor and control the different process operations in oil & gas industries.
Course Objectives:
- Identify and explain the function of the main components of a basic control loop.
- Identify and explain the operation of the basic measuring instruments used to measure the four main process variables; level, flowrate, temperature and pressure.
- Identify and explain the operation of the different types of transmitters associated with measuring devices.
- Identify and explain the main components of a basic process control systems.
- Briefly identify and explain the different types of control valve actuators.
- Explain the mechanism of a basic feedback control loop.
- Explain the mechanism and operation of combines control loops; cascade, split-range and ration control loops.
